'American Idol' contestant will reportedly be kicked off the show on Wednesday for lying to producers about his criminal past.

Just hours after news broke that frog-voiced "gentle giant" Jermaine Jones was scheduled to be booted from "American Idol" on Wednesday night (March 14) for allegedly lying to producers about his criminal past, TMZ posted a list of what it claimed were Jones' priors.
The towering mama's boy singer, who charmed judges enough to earn a reprieve after not making the top 12, was reportedly involved in a fight at a Howard Johnson Hotel in his native New Jersey on March 5, 2011. According to TMZ, he provided police with a fake name, Joel Jones, in that case. He was charged with public nuisance and obstruction of justice, as well as having outstanding warrants from an unspecified earlier incident.
He allegedly had another run-in with cops on November 27 of last year, during which he was a passenger in a car that was pulled over in Gloucester Township, New Jersey. He reportedly once again provided a phony name, telling police he was Kareem Watkins. At that time, he was charged with hindering apprehension and giving false information to avoid self-discovery and again arrested for having outstanding warrants.
TMZ reported that Jones had a total of four outstanding warrants: three for driving on a suspended license and one for disorderly conduct with an open container. "Idol" insiders reportedly said that when the "Idol" risk-assessment team asked Jones about any potential issues before he made it into the top 24, he claimed he hadn't so much as gotten into a fistfight since high school.
On top of allegedly not disclosing those police actions to "Idol" producers — a big no-no on a show that strives to be squeaky clean — TMZ also quoted unnamed "Idol" sources as saying that Jones was "very aggressive" with staff behind the scenes, once "terrorizing" a member of the crew by screaming at her because he didn't like his wardrobe.
A spokesperson for "Idol" has not returned MTV News' requests for comment. But in a tweet that has since been deleted, Jones, 25, appeared to confirm the news on Tuesday, writing, "Awww I will no longer b on the show." His official "Idol" Twitter account has also been deleted.
